Professional Profile

Afaf OUARDI is a Principal Researcher at the Centre National de l’Energie des Sciences et Techniques Nucléaires (CNESTEN) in Rabat, holding a permanent contract since June 2006. With over 18 years of experience in Research and Development (R&D) of nuclear techniques, she possesses a solid background in scientific computing, mathematical modeling, and a strong aptitude for acquiring new knowledge.

As the project leader for the installation of the neutron imaging facility at the Maâmora Nuclear Research Center, Dr. OUARDI has demonstrated exceptional organizational abilities and proven technical skills. Her contributions extend to the development and application of non-destructive control techniques and nucleonic systems for troubleshooting industrial processes and managing hydraulic infrastructures.

Driven by a passion for innovation, Dr. OUARDI is expanding her expertise into new disciplines, such as neural network (AI) applications in image processing, gamma scanning, and the digitization of cultural heritage. She is also focused on the installation of advanced techniques such as e-beam/X-ray accelerators dedicated to food irradiation and other industrial applications.
