Bouselsal Boualem is a distinguished professor and researcher specializing in hydrogeology at Kasdi Merbah University, Ouargla. He holds a Doctor of Engineering in Geology with a specialization in hydrogeology. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. from the University of Badji Mokhtar, Annaba, along with a Magister and State Engineer degree in the same field.

Prof. Bouselsal’s research focuses on fundamental hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry, groundwater vulnerability and management, aquifer recharge assessment, and water pollution. He has authored numerous scientific publications addressing water resource challenges in Algeria, particularly in the El-Oued and Ouargla regions.

His extensive teaching experience covers undergraduate and graduate modules such as hydrodynamics, hydrogeology, and water drilling techniques. He has also supervised multiple doctoral theses on groundwater quality and management in the Algerian Sahara.

In addition to his academic endeavors, Prof. Bouselsal has led and participated in significant research projects, including assessments of nitrate and fluoride contamination in groundwater and resource exploration in Petite Kabylie. He remains actively engaged in advancing research and education in hydrogeology and groundwater management.
